Compliance FAQ

Have questions about certification, safety marks, or sanitation standards? Here are your answers.

Q1: Are all Wilprep products UL certified?
A: No — not yet. All current Wilprep products are ETL certified, which meets North American safety requirements. UL-certified products are under development and expected to launch after September 2025.

Q2: What’s the difference between UL and ETL certification?
A: Both confirm that a product meets safety standards. UL conducts testing through Underwriters Laboratories, while ETL does so via Intertek. Both are recognized by OSHA, local authorities, and insurance companies.

Q3: Will Wilprep switch from ETL to UL?
A: Yes. Once UL certification is complete, Wilprep will gradually replace ETL-certified units with UL-certified versions.

Q4: Can I verify Wilprep’s UL certifications online?
A: Not yet. Since certification is in progress, listings will not appear on UL’s Product iQ database until completion. Once available, we will offer a direct link and verification guide.

Q5: Why does certification matter?
A: Compliance with safety and sanitation standards is crucial for:

  • Health inspections
  • Insurance approval
  • Commercial kitchen operation
  • Brand credibility and product longevity
